Getting IPv6 Connectivity
You are connected via IPv4. Here you will find more information to get IPv6.
Your IP Address is: 3.145.40.121
Your Country is: United States
Getting IPv6 Connectivity is easy, even if your ISP does not support it. What you need is a IPv6 over IPv4 Tunnel.
Requirements:
- An OS that understands IPv6 (Windows Vista/XP SP2) or Linux/BSD
- An Internet Connection (don't worry if it's IPv4)
Windows Vista / Windows 7:
Windows Vista and Windows 7 understand IPv6 out of the box. You don't need to install anything. In fact if you go to the Network Adapter Properties dialog box [Control Panel..Network and Sharing Center...Manage Network Connections...right click on any adapter and Properties] You will see that there is a "Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6)" and you can configure the IPv6 address of that interface.
Windows XP:
Windows XP does not support IPv6 unless SP2 is installed. Even when SP2 is installed IPv6 is not enabled by default. To enable IPv6 open a command prompt window and type in "ipv6 install". This will take only some seconds and will enable IPv6 connectivity.
There are loads of IPv6 over IPv4 tunnel providers available for free. The best (and simplest) solution I found can be obtained from go6.net, it's totally free. After registering you need to install their client which has quite a simple and autoconfigurable setup. They have one for all OS versions including windows vista 32bit and 64bit.
- If you host a web server like Apache you need to get a release of Apache which supports IPv6 from here
[ More to this will be added soon. ]
